Best Really Cheap Place to Drink: Two Bucks

When Two Bucks opened in Avon two years ago, people kept asking if it was a franchise. “The first five times we said no. But then we thought maybe we should franchise,” says owner Eric Nugent. He credits the slick, seamless operation he and co-founders Sean Nugent and Cory Rowland developed after years of experience as partners at the Back Stage at Kamms Corners. And so the second Two Bucks opened in December, and it too is in town (the third is about to open in Milwaukee). What’s all the fuss? Try a Heineken, Corona, Killian’s, or Yuengling Black & Tan while you watch the game. Hell, have one of each — they’re only two bucks. You can sip an Absolut and tonic or a shot of Jameson too — for two bucks. The smoked gouda mac and cheese, sage- and garlic-dusted fries, and a variety of sliders to help absorb all that delicious alcohol? Yep, two bucks. You get the idea. Nothing on the menu — even craft beers and full meatloaf dinners — will cost you more than five bucks, God bless them. Here’s to hoping more locals buy a franchise and bring a Two Bucks to a neighborhood near you.
